Dan and James have been playing and writing music their whole lives. Dan began playing violin at age 2, and James has been writing since around age 5. First encouraged by his songwriter father to make silly songs in order to memorize lessons in school or to express himself when he was upset.

Despite their natural affinity for music and efforts to make careers out of it, it has taken them a long time to get to this point. The duo spent the past 6 years writing and playing throughout Chicago and the Midwest. Through this time they learned there is a lot more to “the music business” than “the music. They also learned about love, loss, overcoming obstacles, conflict, and growing up. The culmination of these lessons became their debut EP, Twentysomething.

Their latest single, Watermelon Tequila, released March 3rd, 2023. After diving into more serious topics on their debut, this song is a like taking a vacation with your best friends on a warm sandy beach. Pearson dazzles with spanish-guitar influenced melodies while moore relaxes and soothes the listener over good food and drink. You can hear it on all streaming services now.

Dan and James also have a five-piece rock band called the Dirty Nines. They have been writing and performing in Chicago for the past five years.
